This week, Samsung is providing Android 12 goodies to a number of entry-level and low-cost smartphones. The big Android update is available for the Galaxy A02s, Galaxy A03s, and Galaxy A21s.
The latest Android version has already been seeded to all of the company’s qualified flagship and mid-range models. Users of the Galaxy A02s in Russia are presently receiving the Android 12 update. It comes with Samsung’s One UI 4.1 proprietary software and firmware version A025FXXU4CVF4.
The sizable OTA (over the air) software package also includes the June security patch, which was released recently and addresses over 70 vulnerabilities. Other areas, including the US, should soon see the phone running Android 12.
In Russia, the Galaxy A21s is also the first device to receive the Android 12 update. Users of this low-cost device will also receive One UI 4.1 with firmware version A217FXXU8DVF6. The package also includes the June security patch. In the upcoming days and weeks, users of this phone in other markets may anticipate the big Android upgrade.
The updated Android version for the Galaxy A03s is now available in a wider range of markets. As of this writing, Android 12 is available to customers in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Serbia. Other markets should shortly be included in the rollout.
More About The Android 12 Update
This phone is also receiving the June security patch, although One UI 4.1 isn’t included. Instead, Samsung is providing this budget smartphone with One UI Core 4.1. It is a simplified variation of the company’s original software. However, the majority of One UI 4.1 features are still there in One UI Core 4.1.
The Galaxy A02s, Galaxy A03s, and Galaxy A21s will soon come with a Color Palette, new privacy indicators, a Samsung Keyboard that integrates Grammarly, improved widgets, new camera features, new editing tools, an improved Calendar, an improved Samsung Internet, an improved Dark Mode, new accessibility tools, simpler brightness control, and much more.
Do not worry if you use a Galaxy A02, Galaxy A21, or Galaxy A03 and have not yet received Android 12. Soon, the updated Android version will be available. Keep an eye out for a notice telling you to download the OTA update. The Software update area of the Settings app allows you to manually check for updates as well.
The Galaxy A02s and Galaxy A21s should receive this as the last major Android OS update. The two promised updates, Android 11 and Android 12, have been applied to both devices, which originally had Android 10.
The Galaxy A03s, on the other hand, came pre-installed with Android 11 and should be capable of one more big Android update, Android 13. This update will be available sometime next year.
