With the recent launch of Android 10 at early of September, there are still lots of major Google apps that are yet to have dark theme feature. The Play Store is currently the latest to roll out a dark theme.
The white background primarily switches to dark gray, like other first-party apps with same features.
We also gathered more reports of the Google Play Store dark theme hitting devices in regards to the initial September 24th sightings carried out. Many Android 10 users are said to have encountered it, but partially those on 9 Pie and below are yet to experience it. We can tell that version 10.8.17 doesn’t yet have the toggle feature settings to manually control the theme.
The dark feature includes the following:
*Main feed
*Navigation drawer
*Bottom bar.
We observed the search bar uses a lighter shade as well.
The dark theme feature makes browsing editorial content, app listings, and other text-heavy pages in the app easier on the eyes. Also reduces eyes strain!
We got reports of the dark theme enabled with Play Store 16.7.21, which is rolling out right now. We all anticipate for it to be officially available for all Android version users.
