In previous updates, the option for WhatsApp users to mute a video before sending to status or to a contact was missing and the only alternative way to achieve that was to convert the video to gif, which obviously reduces the video quality and is max 6secs or thereabout.

How to mute whatsapp video status
- Go to your status tab
- Select the video you want to mute before uploading
- Now tap on the sound 🔊 icon seen at the left top side of the screen as seen in below image to mute the video

- On tapping the icon as marked, the sound icon would chance to 🔕, having a slash line to it as seen in below image

Furthermore, if you also wish to send a whatsapp video without sound to a contact, you can as well use below procedure, but this time around, go to chat section and select the contact you want to send a video and proceed with aforementioned steps.
