NASA to make attempt to fly its Mars helicopter. |
Team NASA will make an attempt to fly its Mars helicopter on the 19th of April.
Finanly NASA has announced a new flight date for its Mars helicopter, this comes after a bug fix caused a delay. NASA now expects to fly Ingenuity On the 19th of April at about 3:30AM Eastern time. Not to worry about waiting all night to be a witness. There would be a livestream covering the data and download won’t start until 6:15AM Eastern provided all events goes smoothly, and also the post-flight briefing i slated by 2PM Eastern.
Originally the mission team hoped to fly Ingenuity by April 11th, but an unexpected command sequence problem on April 9th caused it to push the flight back.
NASA has of recent concluded a spin test for the helicopter.
The ingenuity flight will only be a 30-second hover, that is meant to verify that the aircraft can fly on mars in the first place. Everyone would have to wait until all four successor flights roam the Mars surface. this will represent a historic moment if all goes according to plan. NASA is quite cautious as a result because there’s a lot riding on this mission aside from the fate of a small drone.
