Updated Google Meet Brings Fun Features.
Google Meet and other video platforms, have gotten a bit more attention over the past year and a half. A new Google Meet update is in works, based on recent blog post from the company. The update will bring fun changes to the platform.
There are some additions and UI changes to make life easier for the users.
First of all, you’ll have the ability to pin and unpin tiles. This tiles could be other people’s presentation or windows. It’ll give you the ability to move and resize the windows.
You will also have the ability to resize or completely hide your own video feed. Google, on their post, stated that people feel less tired and concentrate better when they don’t see their own feed.
Furthermore, Google will use artificial intelligence to enhance how you’re seen by people. To start with, the software will automatically boost the brightness of your feed if it detects that you are underexposed.
Concerning the fun stuff, Google will be adding fun background. While you’re speaking, there will be actual videos playing in the background. These will help to mask out your surroundings, which will help those with messy environment.
For a start, there will be three backgrounds: a classroom, a party and forest.
The last feature is for those that uses Google Meet on the go. Google will launch “Data Saver”. This limits data usage when you’re using mobile data. With the data saver, folks will be able to save on data costs.
However, Google hasn’t said whether the service can be toggled.
These changes will start rolling out in the coming weeks. Now is the best time to get on board if this new Google Meet will enhance your video calling experience. Google Meet is free via Gmail through June.
