One of the finest low-cost phones of the year is now available in the US unlocked. In April, the OnePlus Nord N20 5G went on sale as a T-Mobile exclusive, and up until today, it was the only way to get one. The Nord N20 5G is now available for $299 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage via Amazon, Best Buy, or straight from OnePlus.
Be aware that Verizon won’t let the unlocked N20 use its 5G or 4G networks. Customers of AT&T will only be able to connect to 4G, which isn’t too awful given that the provider is spreading its more significant mid-band 5G coverage more slowly. Naturally, T-Mobile customers will have access to 5G and 4G coverage.
Because of this, AT&T customers without a need for 5G or those using a T-Mobile MVNO like Google Fi or Mint Mobile would benefit most from the unlocked N20. Or if you’re a T-Mobile customer and you really don’t want to purchase your phone through your carrier, which, if you can handle it, is a wise choice.
