Want to use your Android device more like a PC by connecting a mouse and keyboard to it? Almost any Android device will allow you to do this if you have the right hardware. Here’s how it’s done.

    Option 1: On-the-Go Cable Connection

Note: This option will only work if your device supports On-the-Go (OTG) connections. Most newer Android devices do support OTG. Check with the manufacturer of your particular device to verify.
Purchase an On-the-Go (OTG) hub (USB-C Model or Micro-USB Model) if you wish to connect a mouse and keyboard to your Android simultaneously. If you’re only connecting one device and your Android has a USB-C port, you can purchase a USB-C to USB OTG cable. Of course micro-USB models are also available.
Connect a USB keyboard and/or mouse to the hub or cable, then connect the hub or cable to your Android device.
That’s actually all you need to do. The Android OS has everything built in that will support almost any USB keyboard and mouse.

    Option 2: Bluetooth Connection

If your Android device runs Android OS 3.0 or higher, chances are, you can find a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse that will work with it. Just power on the keyboard or mouse, then have a look under “Settings” > “Bluetooth” on your Android and pair the keyboard and/or mouse like you would any other Bluetooth device.

    FAQ

    • Can I charge my Android device while simultaneously using a keyboard or mouse connected to the micro-USB port?
Due to hardware limitations, it is not yet possible to charge an Android device through the micro-USB port while another hardware device is connected to it. But, if your phone accept wireless charging, you can charge and use the mouse.
    • Can I use a wireless keyboard with an Android device?
In most cases, yes. There are a few wireless keyboards and mice out there on sites like eBay that may not work though.
