USSD airtime recharge option is one of the fastest, and the easiest ever known. It feels handy and easy when urgency calls for a quick top-up for either data or voice calls.
Information reaching us via our social platforms proves that we shall all be charged for using USSD access to banking services on October 21st 2019.
From MTN NG
Yello, as requested by your bank, from Oct 21, we will start charging you directly for USSD access to banking
services. Please contact your bank for more info.
We actually can’t tell why or what got the request granted.
Furthermore, whatsoever banking services you’ll be performing via USSD codes, you’ll be charged beginning from 21st October 2019. We are not sure if this is peculiar to a bank or to all banks.
Alternatively
To avoid this charges, you are advised to make use of available banking apps or third party applications to recharge or buy data eg. Opay, Carbon, RAGP, jumia one app and others third-party applications.
