Call of Duty Mobile Breaks Record with 100 Million Downloads in First Week Beating Its Rivals

Was no news when it got to our hearing, that Call of Duty Mobile (COD) hits 100 million downloads in its first week (7days). Previously we made a post on its download and how possible its going to beat its rival.

Call of Duty Mobile reached 100 million downloads in its first week, overtaking Mario Kart Tour, Pokemon GO, and both mobile versions of Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to become the largest mobile game launch in history. Unbelievable, but it happened in just a week!

Sensor Tower revealed the news that Call of Duty: Mobile’s 100 million downloads in its first week milestone is a huge jump over rivals PUBG’s 28 million and Fortnite’s 26.3 million in the same time frame and is the “largest mobile game launch ever.”

CNBC Report
The report also says iOS leads the download tally with over 56.9 million as compared to 45.3 million on Android. The United States for sure leads the country-wide download chart with 17.3 million, followed by India with 13.7 million, and Brazil with 7.1 million.

Call of Duty: Mobile also beat out

  • Pokemon GO with a total of 85.5million download in a week.
  • Mario Kart Tour’s had 90 million downloads in a week.

This number does not include China and also brings up the fact that “Activision previously had 37m monthly active users across its brands (Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot etc…) on PC/Console.”

What’s put forth is impressive, though the controls are iffy and the free-to-play microtransactions are a dark cloud on the horizon.

October is obviously a huge month for Call of Duty, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25th 2019.
