The Galaxy Z Flip has finally gotten the May 2022 Android security patch in the US. Samsung began the deployment earlier this week. The new security upgrade is available on both the carrier-locked and unlocked varieties of the original clamshell foldable.
The latest firmware update for the Galaxy Z Flip in the United States is F700USQU4GVE9 for carrier-locked models and F700U1UEU4GVE9 for unlocked models.The OTA (over the air) deployment is already accessible to consumers on most carrier networks. The remaining few should also be on board soon.
According to the official changelog, the foldable is getting Bluetooth-related stability and reliability enhancements as well as certain bug fixes with this version. This is in addition to the security updates included in Samsung’s Android-based Galaxy smartphones and tablets’ May SMR (Security Maintenance Release).
Samsung has previously stated that the May SMR contains solutions for about 50 vulnerabilities. These include Android OS issues as well as additional security weaknesses that specifically impact the Korean firm’s Android smartphones.
