Android phones would have a look alike feature that would give them an edge over iPhones as the Google Nearby Share would allow sharing to multiple Android devices at once
The Google Nearby Share serves as an Android’s version of Apple’s AirDrop, that allows you to quickly transfer files between 2 devices.
There’s a new upgrade and it’s supercharging that function, thereby allowing you to transfer files out to multiple devices at the same time. Therefore if you have a gallery of photos or a video you would like to share with a group of friends, there’s no need to send them one by one all you have to do is to use the new Nearby Share option and transfer all the files to them
This lovely function is already available for Chromebooks (OS 89) and Xda-developers have revealed that this feature would soon be available on Android devices too.
For users to actually receive the files you intend to share, then you’ll have to manually approve the transfer on your device, and right now, only four transfers can occur at any one time. However, these features could be changed by the time it goes live.
Even if no timescale has been issued from Google to say when we can expect this feature to be made live, it looks like Google’s I/O developers event in May is a possible date.
