YouTube has made a post to inform users of the update of their Terms of Service that will take place on January 5, 2022.
It’s stated that the changes won’t affect its usage. Here’s a review of the summary of the changes and the Terms updated here.
WHAT’S THE YOUTUBE TERMS OF SERVICE UPDATE?
YouTube is providing more transparency about what they develop, improve, and update their service, including more detail about the reasons they make changes and updates,and the advanced notice they provide to you.
There is an update on improved readability. While the terms remain a legal document, there’s also been a need to make them easy to understand.
Some sections will be reorganized (such as Account suspension and termination) also, others will be reworded.
There’s also been Inclusion of the Community Guidelines and its strike process added to the update. This is to increase transparency.
Though there are no changes to the strike operation of the Community Guidelines , or when a content or channel might receive a strike.
It is advisable you read the updates to the Terms. You are agreeing to the updated terms if you choose to continue using Youtube after this date.
Also, note that if you manage your child’s use of YouTube through family link or allow your child use YouTube kids, you should take out time to tell them about these changes.
