Last year December 2020, FirstBank Nigeria made a mail broadcast stating that from the 1st of January 2021, they will no more accept old cheques in sequel to the new cheque standard approved by the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN).
From the mail received yesterday, there have been a change in FirstBank old cheque deadline to 1st April 2021.

It is advisable for all customers banking with FirstBank Nigeria to adhere to the new development, by simply visiting the nearest FirstBank Branch and requesting for a new Cheque book which is been made available on all FirstBank Nigeria Branches.
The changes on the new Cheque Book includes, introduction of expiring date on cheques and inclusion of Cheque digit on the MICR code line.
