Google Camera 7.1 gets brand new interface: Check them out

A newer version of Google Camera 7.0 leaked, which displayed us exactly what we can expect from the Pixel 4’s image shooter. Good news, Google has just released a new stable version of its camera app bearing version number 7.1.

The new version comes with brand new framing hints and quick social share options feature.
Google Camera 7.1 cleans up the view finder interface considerably. We found out that the options on the top side of the camera display that let you set up motion, flash, and timer are gone, hiding behind an arrow pointing downwards. This menu has also added an option to exchange the default 4:3 ratio for a cropped 16:9 view. Which can be accessed by swiping down anywhere the screen. Similarly, the zoom and exposure sliders only become visible when you tap to focus or when you start zooming with the pinch gesture feature.

Added features:

  • Framing hints and Social Share are new options available in the settings.
  • Tapping to focus invokes the zoom and exposure sliders. Right: Framing hints in action, telling you to raise the camera for a better angle.
  • Astrophotography is yet another new addition to the update, first spotted in a Pixel 4 leak. It lets you take images of the night sky using a tripod by capturing light for over a minute to make the stars pop. This is real an amazing feature we must say. You can test it during the day by starting Night Sight and putting your phone flat on a table to simulate the night sky.

  • •HDR+ – Take pictures using HDR+ to capture fantastic photos, especially in low-light or backlit scenes.
  • • Night Sight – You’ll never want to use your flash again. Night Sight brings out all the best details and colours that get lost in the dark.
  • • Super Res Zoom – Super Res Zoom keeps your pictures sharp when you zoom in – without the blur.
  • • Top Shot – Pick the perfect moment with Top Shot. Automatically recommends the best pics, where no one is blinking and everything looks just right.
  • • portrait – Add elegant background blur (bokeh) to pictures. Google Photos can also make the subject of your photo pop by leaving them in colour, while changing the background to black and white.

  • • Google Lens suggestions – Just point your camera at contact info, URLs and barcodes and it will automatically suggest things to do such as calling the number or sending an email.
  • • Playground – Have fun mixing the real world with the virtual through AR Stickers and effects!
