Android 13is making permission settings for notifications, among other anticipated features. That is, for an app to pop up on your notification bar, it will have to ask you to do that first.
We saw it coming, but now we know what it might look like when it finally arrives. In case you didn’t get to see the news before now, early Android 13 notification leaks showed that notifications are becoming an opt-in process courtesy of a new permission.
We knew that such change will mean a new section in the permissions manager and we had seen what it looked like in the permissions list of the app but we didn’t see what the permission would trigger.
More About The New Android 13 Notification Permissions
Just like we expected, The Android 13 Notification Permissions looks like this:Android 13>Runtime>Notifications>Permission fixed.
If there aren’t any changes between now and when Android 13 is released, when the new post notifications runtime permission is requested for the first time by an app on Android 13,you’ll be welcomed with a dialog similar to that shown above.
The options here are purely binary: allow or don’t allow. Once it’s been granted (or denied), the app will (or won’t) be able to send you notifications. It’s as simple as that.
