Here we go again with yet another spicy bit of entertainment news. From the Warner Bros studios a new DC comic book “Black Adam”would be added to the DCEU on the 21st of October, 2022.
This news definitely puts a smile on the face of both DC fans and just normal fans of the Hollywood giant Dwayne Johnson A.K.A. The Rock, who would be starring in the movie as the main character. This is going to mark his breakout into the world of superheroes and he’s doing so in grand style ready to blast its way onto the big screen in the coming days.
The DC Extended Universe’s 11th movie will bring one of the biggest movie stars in the business into the story along with one of the most powerful characters in comic book history. And while the future of the DC Extended Universe is increasingly murky, fans are hopeful that The Rock’s star power and passion for this project will help it shine.
A Background Story On Black Adam Origin
In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam was bestowed the almighty powers of the gods. After using these powers for vengeance, he was imprisoned, becoming Black Adam. Nearly 5,000 years have passed, and Black Adam has gone from man to myth to legend. Now free, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern-day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone.
An antihero from Kahndaq who was imprisoned for 5,000 years. He will become the archenemy to the superheroes Shazam and Superman and shares his powers from the ancient wizard of the same name. Johnson previously voiced the character in the unrelated animated film, DC League of Super-Pets (2022) in a post-credits cameo role.
An archaeologist who is the reincarnation of the Egyptian prince who enslaved Black Adam, and has the power of flight from his Nth metal wings. He is the leader of the Justice Society of America (JSA).
• Noah Centineo as Albert “Al” Rothstein / Atom Smasher:
A member of the JSA who can control his molecular structure and manipulate his size and strength.
• Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson / Doctor Fate:
A member of the JSA and the son of an archeologist who learned sorcery and was given the magical Helmet of Fate. Brosnan wore a motion capture suit for the role.
• Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel / Cyclone:
A member of the JSA can control wind and generate sound. As the granddaughter of Abigail “Ma” Hunkel / Red Tornado, she seeks to live up to her familial superhero legacy. Swindell studied dancing techniques when designing their character’s movement.
Viola Davis and Jennifer Holland reprise their roles as Amanda Waller and Emilia Harcourt, respectively, from previous DCEU media, while Mohammed Amer portrays Karim, Adrianna’s brother. James Cusati-Moyerand Uli Latukefu have been cast in undisclosed roles. Henry Cavill reprises his DCEU role as Superman in an uncredited cameo appearance during the mid-credit scene.
